Five baseball divisions for ages 4 through 12. Eligibility follows Little League International rules. Children who live or attend school in the Town of Munster may register.
Ages 4–6
T-Ball
Intro to Little League for players new to baseball. Instructional T-ball grounded in fun, fitness and fundamentals. No player evaluation — managers draft teams of friends and blind picks. Non-competitive: no scores or standings. All players bat every inning, with the last player hitting a “home run.”
Ages 5–7
Prep
Instructional division for kids moving up from T-Ball. No evaluations. Coach pitch — no tee during games. Non-competitive: no scores or overall standings. Focus is learning the fundamentals of each position and having fun.
Ages 6–8
C-League
Introduction to competitive Little League play. Scores and standings are kept. All players take part in evaluations and are drafted by C-League managers. Combination of kid pitch and coach pitch. All teams play in an end-of-season tournament. Coaches develop an understanding of each position at an elevated level.
Ages 8–10
Minors
Intermediate level. Most players are ages 9–10. Evaluations and a draft. Strictly kid pitch. New rules enter here: stealing, bunting and the infield fly. Coaches develop players at more specific positions and work on baserunning. End-of-season tournament.
Ages 10–12
Majors
Highest level of Little League play. Most players are 11–12. Evaluations and a draft. Builds positional skills from Minors and adds the dropped-third-strike rule. All teams play in an end-of-season tournament.
Munster also runs a Challenger division for athletes with intellectual and physical disabilities. See the Challengers page.
